Untitled Poem Part 1

She spends much of her time
Trying not to feel the pain.
She spends much of her life
     Trying to hide the shame.
Wishing she could just disappear
     Wishing she had no name.
Unlike most, she seeks
     The opposite of fame.
She gazes, hopelessly,
     At the skies above.
Why can’t she find love?
     Why is she so unloved?
Does anyone know the
     Things she’s done for love?
Her heart so deeply scarred
     That it hurts to breathe.
She carries the burden of a love
     No one wants to receive.
Like an abandoned house,
     She’s been left all alone.
Her love’s travelled many places
      Yet cannot find a home.
Her heart is weary, her mind leery
     Of those words that bring
Music to her ears.
Knowing that in the end,
They’ll just bring life to her fears,
That nobody loves her,
     That nobody cares,
That nobody knows
     The heartache she bares.
Her heart needs protection,
     Not some man’s affection.
So she turns to the one place,
     That will give her direction.
With a face filled with tears
And a heart filled with sorrow
She prayed, “Please God,
     Spare me from tomorrow,
Or somehow, please,
     Make a way
To keep my tomorrow
From being slain by my yesterday.
Here I am Lord,
     No place left to turn
Looking for grace……….
     A love I don’t have to earn.
Lord, I’m tired of this life
     I’ve been living,
Tired of being the taken,
     Never being the given.
But giving is all that
     I know how to do.
All that I have left
     Lord, I’m giving to you.
And as the tears
     Continued to flow,
A voice deep within said,
“ I want you to know
I loved you before
     The beginning of time.
I loved you while you were
Still just a thought in my mind.
I loved you while I was
     Stretched out on the cross.
I loved you even more
     While you were still lost.
You were never alone.
I was right by your side.
I dried your tears
All those nights that you cried.
I shed a tear
For every tear that you shed.
While you were asleep
     My hands cradled your head.
There’s one thing you must do
     To make the hurting cease.
Give me your broken heart
I will give you my peace.
